We need to own the end to end supply chains of our basic needs!

Some thoughts & Opinion:

In recent times, the importance of owning and controlling the supply chain has become increasingly apparent. It is crucial for countries to have control over their supply chains, particularly when it comes to their most basic needs like food, raw materials, and energy. The COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent disruption in global supply chains have only amplified this need for self-sufficiency.

In this fast changing world we have to ensure we have the basics

Agriculture is the backbone of many economies, and it is essential for countries to have their own farming capabilities. By owning and managing their own agricultural supply chain, countries can ensure that they have access to the food they need, regardless of external factors. This also ensures food security for the population and helps to prevent food shortages during times of crisis.

Raw materials are another critical aspect of a country's supply chain. By taking raw materials from their land and refining them locally, countries can create value-added products and reduce their reliance on imports. This not only strengthens the economy but also creates jobs and enhances the country's self-reliance. For example, a country with significant iron ore reserves can refine and manufacture steel locally to build homes and infrastructure, rather than importing the finished product.

Our need for energy isn't getting any less

Countries can also benefit from using as much green energy as possible. By utilizing renewable energy sources like solar, wind, and hydro power, countries can reduce their reliance on fossil fuels and decrease their carbon footprint. This not only helps to protect the environment but also reduces the country's vulnerability to fluctuations in oil prices.

Furthermore, by owning their supply chain, countries can simplify their needs based on their available resources. For example, a country with abundant forests can use wood as a primary building material for homes and infrastructure, rather than relying on expensive imported materials like steel or concrete.

How many times have you heard someone say they just want to have enough to cover the costs of housing, energy and food?

The desire for self-sufficiency is a fundamental human instinct. People have always sought to provide for themselves and their families through their own efforts, whether that be by farming, hunting, or other means of subsistence. The idea of being able to rely solely on oneself and one's community for basic needs like food, shelter, and energy is deeply ingrained in human culture. In recent years, as global supply chains have become increasingly complex and vulnerable to disruption, the appeal of self-sufficiency has only grown stronger. Many people are now recognizing the importance of owning and controlling their own supply chains as a means of protecting themselves and their communities from external shocks. This mentality has led to a resurgence of interest in local agriculture, renewable energy, and other forms of self-reliance, as people look for ways to reduce their dependence on imported goods and services.

In conclusion, owning and controlling the supply chain from the most basic needs of farming for food and taking raw materials from your land to using as much green energy as available to your country is essential for ensuring self-sufficiency, promoting economic growth, and enhancing national security. Countries that invest in their supply chains and prioritize self-sufficiency are better equipped to handle crises and protect the well-being of their citizens.
